Text from the back cover: Thanks to Robin Williams, non-designers and designers alike have learned the principles of graphic and web design. Robin now teams with co-authors John Tollett and David Rohr to pool their web design, illustration, and graphics experience to create a lavish and engaging guide to more advanced design and web principles. The concepts in this book address web design and technology, including how typefaces, clipart, photographs, and other elements contribute to creating a visual impression. Learn their favorite tips, tricks, and techniques in site planning and layout, navigation, and functionality, all in a clear and accessible style. For professional and aspiring web designers, this book provides practical and effective web design principles, concepts, and counsel for any project. Youll learn to:
Break out of the HTML box by designing visually instead
of by code A note to say thank you and to your co-authors for your wonderful book (Web Design Workshop) and site. I am a "newbie", a recent graduate of a 7 month web design program and your book is a not only a wonderful refresher but will also become a frequently thumbed valuable resource guide. I have not finished reading your book from cover to cover yet but already I can say that I only wish my program could have been presented in such a concise, unintimidating manner. It seems that with many of the programs being offered, the instructors' main role almost seems to be to throw out just enough information to say you've had instruction but not quite enough to get you into production. Your book has instilled a new found confidence in my abilities. I
have read and loved Web Design Workbook. I'm a traditional
designer slowly moving into web design and this was just what the
doctor ordered. I enjoyed it from cover to cover and it is now a valuable
resource perched on my desk. Thank you so much for such a wonderful
book...it would have been cheap at twice the price.
