Url Ratz, accompanied by two Cafe executives, traveled to Paris in mid-March because Url was having a hissy-fit wanting to look for "Kiki's Paris." The Cafe is encouraging Url to find some kind of closure on this "Kiki" obsession by publishing this Cafe Exclusive report:

My dearest Kiki,
While visiting Cafe de la Rotonde, I could feel your presence. Laughing with your group of friends, your pet mouse in a little straw basket. Pet mouse?!! Whoa! That could have been a relative! I just knew you were the kind of woman who would be kind to a rodent.

My quest has begun. I will not rest until I have seen your Paris!

Cafe de la Rotonde, one of the two main cafes at the intersection of boulevard Raspail and boulevard du Monparnasse where Kiki and friends met daily and created an international community of artists and writers. According to some accounts, this section of Paris, known as Montparnasse, tolerated life-styles and unconventional behavior that would have been unacceptable in other parts of Paris. At the same time, the criminal elements and brothels that had negatively impacted the other artistic community of Paris, Montmartre, were successfully kept out.

This group of friends included Man Ray, Picasso, Hemingway, Gauguin, Mucha, Pascin, Matisse, Modigliani, Mondrian, Kisling, Foujita, Rivera, Cocteau, Krohg, Calder, and many more. They declared Montparnasse the center of the world.
