The guy in the Visitor Center told us the trail to the top of the mesa was marked and, by golly, so it is. He also casually asked if we were afraid of heights (not that he seemed inclined to discourage us from the hike). Oh I forgot... this is New Mexico... where you're encouraged to set fires in the streets on Christmas Eve. None of this namby-pamby sissy stuff like hand rails or steps on the mesa cliffs. Save that stuff for California.
