Going to Chaco

Leaving Chaco

New Mexico Travel Commentary by Url Ratz

Fajada Butte. If you get hungry while you're visiting Chaco Canyon, the nearest store of any kind is 30 miles away, via dirt road. Good luck if it's raining. As you approach Chaco Canyon (via the dirt road) signs warn you to be prepared to get by with whatever you have with you. However, there is drinking water available in the Visitor Center. I guess that even in New Mexico park officials feel bad about someone dropping dead from thirst.
