New Mexico Travel Commentary by Url Ratz
To put things in perspective, the Roman colosseum was built a few years before Pueblo Bonito. One thousand years before, give or take a year or two. But hey, come on. The Romans were Italian. They were already working on cell phones by the time the Anasazi figured out how to make rocks fit together like this. While the Anasazi were watching split-boulder shards of light hit a petroglyph, the Romans were shipping obelisks the size of the Washington Monument from Egypt to Rome so they could decorate a piazza. |
