New Mexico Travel Commentary by Url Ratz
Sunset from the campground. Fajada Butte sits between two mesas in the canyon. Years ago, researchers found a split-boulder astronomy site on this butte. That refers to a sliver of light that goes between two big rocks and strikes a petroglyph at a specific point on a specific day, such as the Fall Equinox. I found a similar split-boulder astronomy site that Chaco Park officials would rather not acknowledge. |
